Let’s not kid ourselves: money is what makes the world go ‘round. Lucky for us, though, there is one season where we take a break from making money for our companies, and spend a little bit on ourselves and our loved ones, and that season has finally blown into town.

Whether you’re looking for something small and thoughtful for your staff or something truly opulent for yourself, be sure to check out our list of holiday gifts for everyone in your life. We’ve also done some research and put together a list of ultrabooks, just in case this is the year you decide to upgrade, as well as survey of China’s best ski resorts. Just because you’re stuck in China for the winter doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy it!
On the business side of things, we met with Leo Hwang, who gave us a VIP tour of Parkview Green, a revolutionary hybrid of retail, commercial, and hotel space that will redefine Beijing’s real estate next summer. And no issue that talks about shopping would be complete without an interview with Dominic Johnson-Hill of Plastered, whose iconic designs were what breathed life into Nanluogu Xiang. He met with us to share some tips for aspiring entrepreneurs. Spoiler: karma is one of the secrets to his success.
And speaking of karma, this is the season where we should keep in mind the less fortunate, like the children at Little Flower Projects. Despite all of the negative press associated with charity this year, there are hundreds of charities who are making a positive impact on the lives of people in China. So if you’ve made it big this year, why not give back a little? If you need a recommendation, Agenda has interviewed many amazing charities over the past year and is happy to give you one!
