CDH Investments’ Wang Gongquan Shocks China with “Microblog Elopement”
Wang Gongquan, one of the founders of CDH Investments, an international alternative asset fund manager, has raised a huge storm with his messages on his microblog declaring that he had eloped with Wang Qin, founder of Jiangsu Zhongfu Investments. Since its posting, this announcement has left behind little but shock and a hot new keyword “微博私奔” (weibo siben or microblog elopement). In addition, his message has been forwarded more than 60,000 times, as well as commented on more than 30,000 times in the last day. 34 hours later, Wang returned to the platform to respond that he could handle the criticism and the risk to his reputation that his announcement incurred.
