Winter will soon be waning – time to throw off those heavy coats and salute the coming spring. And after you’ve retaken the playing fields there’s no better way to unwind than an evening at the pub cheering your team on with your best friends over some cold beers and hearty grub. The following are some of the best sports bars in town.

Bang! Bang! Pizza
In addition to its delicious pizzas, this Shuangjing pub offers an extensive selection of foreign and domestic beers and live sports on the TV. This a great after-work place to meet up with friends. Black Sun Bar黑太阳
This long-running bar at the West Gate of Chaoyang Park comes equipped with a pool table, foosball table, darts and live sports on the TV. Drinks are a steal and the patio is a great place for a breezy drink in warm-weather months.

The Den 敦煌
Tasty food, reasonable priced beers, cheerful staff, and three TV screens showing different sports make The Den one of the longest-running stalwarts of Beijing’s bar scene. Frank’s Place at Trio翠欧
Billing itself as “Beijing’s oldest sports bar” (the original was opened in the early 90s), the latest incarnation of Frank’s Place lies just south of the Lido Hotel and offers the usual pub fare in addition to a pool table, dart boards, outdoor deck and even a basement wine cellar. Green Cap Bar
Run by the former Manager of the nearby Pomegranate, this Shunyi area pub boasts comfy couches, well-poured pints of Guinness, hearty Irish stews and multiple TVs showing non-stop sporting action.

Grinders
Just a few doors up the street from The Brick, Grinders gives Shuangjing residents another reason to get off the couch and out of the house. Live sports are shown around the clock and regulars love to pop by for an after-work drink. Daily 10am-2am. Hooters 美国猫头鹰餐厅
Beijing’s version of this American sports pub franchise goes all out with the requisite waitresses in short shorts delivering beer, wings, burgers, quesadillas, jalapeno chili cheese fries and more. The Irish Volunteer
Those in the Lido/Wangjing area know that this cozy pub is the place to go for watching live sports on big screen TVs, tasty pub grub and Guinness on tap.

Nearby the Tree 树旁边酒吧
The sister venue of The Tree, this two-story Belgian pub is a long-running favorite for its fantastic ales (De Koninck and Hoegaarden on tap), wood-oven pizzas, a new pool table, live music and live sports on its flatscreen TVs.

Stumble Inn
